The Traveling Wilburys - "Not alone any more"
Not alone any more
You always said that I'd be back again
That I'd come running to you in the end
I thought that you were on your own
And now I find you're not alone
I'll see you through the rain
Through the heartache and pain
It hurts like never before
You're not alone any more
You always said that I would know someday
Just how it feels when your love walks away
I let you down I let you go
I lost you, how was I to know
I never knew I could feel this way
I never could see past yesterday
You feel that everything is gone
I feel it too, you're not alone
Bob Seger & The silver Bullet Band - "Till it shines"
Till it shines
Take away my inhibitions
Take away my solitude
Fire me up with your resistance, mm
Put me in the mood
Storm the walls around this prison
Leave the inmates, free the guards
Deal me up another future
From some brand new deck of cards
Take the chip off of my shoulder
Smooth out all the lines
Take me out among the rustling pines
'Til it shines
Oh 'til it shines
Like an echo down a canyon
Never coming back as clear
Lately I just judge the distance
Not the words I hear
I've been too long on these islands
I've been far too long alone
I've been too long without summer
In this winter home
Still, if we can make the effort
If we take the time
Maybe we can leave this much behind
'Til it shines
Mm, 'til it shines
See the rich man lost and lonely
Watch him as he dines
Sitting there just testing all the wines
'Til it shines
Mm 'til it shines
'Til it shines
Oh, 'til it shines
'Til it shines
Ooh
Leon Russell - "Stranger in a strange land"
Stranger in a strange land
How many days has it been
Since I was born
How many days until I die
Do I know any ways
That I can make you laugh
Or do I only know how to make you cry
When the baby looks around him
It's such a sight to see
He shares a simple secret
With the wise man
He's a stranger in a strange land
Just a stranger in a strange land
Tell me why
He's a stranger in a strange land
Just a stranger in a strange land
How many miles will it take
To see the sun
And how many years until it's done
Kiss my confusion away in the night
Lay by side when the morning comes
And the baby looks around him
And shares his bed of hay
With the burrow in the palace of the king
He's a stranger in a strange land
Tell me why
He's a stranger in a strange land
Just a stranger in a strange land
Well, I don't exactly know
What's going on in the world today
Don't know what there is to say
About the way the people are treating
Each other, not like brothers
Leaders take us far away from ecology
With mythology and astrology
Has got some words to say
About the way we live today
Why can't we learn to love each other
It's time to turn a new face
To the whole world wide human race
Stop the money chase
Lay back, relax
Get back on the human track
Stop racing toward oblivion
Oh, such a sad, sad state we're in
And that's a thing
Do you recognize the bells of truth
When you hear them ring
Won't you stop and listen
To the children sing
Won't you come on and sing it children
He's a stranger in a strange land
Just a stranger in a strange land
John Hiatt - "All the way to the river"
All the way to the river
Up late with the hollowed out eyes
All the way to the river
Trying every last trouble on for size
All the way to the river
Who knows what she's gonna do
All the way to the river
Not up to me, not up to you
All the way to the river
Fumbling for the keys to her car
All the way to the river
Empty bottles only go so far
All the way to the river
Straight down Broadway, 3 AM
All the way to the river
She's gone way past calling a friend
All the way to the river
All the way to the river
Down on the bottom where the catfish moan
All the way to the river
Dirty Nashville that's her home
Mama don't you worry 'bout me, hmm
Scribbled down with a fleur-de-lis, hmm
But how she gonna get through this night, hmm
How she ever gonna be alright, hmm
All the way to the river
Down on the bottom where the catfish moan
All the way to the river
Dirty Nashville that's her home
It takes cowardice and courage too
All the way to the river
To leave this town before you're through
All the way to the river
All the way to the river
Down on the bottom where the catfish moan
All the way to the river
Dirty Nashville that's her home
All the way to the river
Down on the bottom where the catfish moan
All the way to the river
Dirty Nashville that's her home
All the way to the river
That's her home
All the way to the river
That's her home
All the way to the river
That's her home
Peter Frampton - "While my guitar gently weeps"
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at you all,
See the love there that's sleeping,
While my guitar gently weeps
I look, at the floor,
And I see it needs sweeping,
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don't know why, nobody told you, how to unfold your love
I don't know how, someone controlled you, they bought and sold you
I look, at the world, and I notice it's turning,
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake, we must surely be learning,
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don't know how, you were diverted,
You were perverted, too.
I don't know how, you were inverted,
No one alerted you
I look at you all,
See the love there that's sleeping,
While my guitar gently weeps.
Look at you all
Still my guitar gently weeps
Raul Malo & Pat Flynn & Rob Ickes - "Bright side of the road"
Bright side of the road
From the dark end of the street
To the bright side of the road
Well be lovers once again on the
Bright side of the road
Little darlin, come with me
Wont you help me share my load
From the dark end of the street
To the bright side of the road
Into this life were born
Baby sometimes we dont know why
And time seems to go by so fast
In the twinkling of an eye
Lets enjoy it while we can
Wont you help me sing my song
From the dark end of the street
To the bright side of the road
Into this life were born
Baby sometimes we dont know why
And time seems to go by so fast
In the twinkling of an eye
Lets enjoy it while we can
Wont you help me sing my song
From the dark end of the street
To the bright side of the road
From the dark end of the street
To the bright side of the road
Well be lovers once again
On the bright side of the road
Shannon McNally, Rodney Crowell - "I ain't living long like this"
I ain't living long like this
I looked for trouble and I found it, son
Straight down the barrel of a lawman's gun
I tried to run but I don't think I can
"You make one move and you're a dead man, friend"
Ain't living long like this
Can't live at all like this, can I, baby?
He slipped the handcuffs on behind my back
And left me reeling on a steel rail rack
They got 'em all in the jailhouse, baby
Ain't living long like this
Can't live at all like this, can I, baby?
Grew up in Houston off of Wayside Drive
Son of a carhop and some all night dives
Dad drove a stock car to an early death
All I remember was a drunk man's breath
Ain't living long like this
Can't live at all like this, can I, baby?
You know the story how the wheel goes 'round
Don't let them take you to the man down town
Can't sleep at all in a jailhouse, baby
Ain't living long like this
Can't live at all like this, can I, baby?
I live with Angel she's a roadhouse queen
Makes Texas Ruby look like Sandra Dee
I want to love her but I don't know how
Down on the bottom in the jailhouse now
Ain't living long like this
Can't live at all like this, can I, baby?
You know the story about the jailhouse rock
Don't want to do it but just don't get caught
They got 'em all in the jailhouse, baby
Ain't living long like this
Can't live at all like this, can I, baby?
Danny O'Keefe - "Good time Charlie's got the blues"
Good time Charlie's got the blues
Everybody's goin' away
Said they're movin' to LA
There's not a soul I know around
Everybody's leavin' town
Some caught a freight, some caught a plane
Find the sunshine, leave the rain
They said this town's a waste of time
I guess they're right, it's wastin' mine
Some gotta win, some gotta lose
Good time Charlie's got the blues
Good time Charlie's got the blues
Ya know my heart keeps tellin' me
"You're not a kid at thirty-three"
"Ya play around, ya lose your wife"
"Ya play too long, you lose your life"
I got my pills to ease the pain
Can't find a thing to ease the rain
I'd love to try and settle down
But everybody's leavin' town
Some gotta win, some gotta lose
Good time Charlie's got the blues
Good time Charlie's got the blues
Good time Charlie's got the blues
Jesse Colin Young - "Morning sun"
Morning sun
When the morning sun has come
Shine the darkness from my eyes
And I wake up in the tree tops, darlin'
Oh, and I got you by my side
There's a sweet smile on your face
And your hair is all undone
And I feel that we are one
When the morning sun has come
When the morning sun has come
Yeah, and I wake up with a smile
Oh, and I walk out on the ridgetop
And I sit there for a while
And I watch a redtailed hawk
Flying circles around the sun
And I feel that we are one
When the morning sun has come
When the morning sun has come
Shine the darkness from my eyes
Yeah, I listen in the stillness
And I hear my little baby cry
And I look into the face
Of a life that's just begun
And I feel that we are one
When the morning sun has come
When the morning sun has come
Shine the darkness from my eyes
And I wake up in the tree tops, darlin'
Oh, and I got you by my side
There's a sweet smile on your face
And your hair is all undone
Oh, and I feel that we are one
When the morning sun has come
Oh, and I feel that we are one, yeah
When the morning sun has come
Willie Nile - "You ain't goin' nowhere"
You ain't goin' nowhere
Clouds so swift
Rain won't lift
Gate won't close
Railings froze
Get your mind off wintertime
You ain't goin' nowhere
Whoo-ee, ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair
I don't care how many letters they sent
Morning came and morning went
Pick up your money
And pack up your tent
You ain't goin' nowhere
Whoo-ee, ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair
Buy me a flute
And a gun that shoots
Tailgates and substitutes
Strap yourself to the tree with roots
You ain't goin' nowhere
Whoo-ee, ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair
Genghis Khan
He could not keep
All his kings
Supplied with sleep
We'll climb that hill, no matter how steep
When we come up to it
Whoo-ee, ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair
Roachford - "This generation"
This generation
Tell them in the city, tell them near and far
This generation coming up, are gonna be proud of who they are
So you've got to lend an ear, hear what they've got to say
Maybe you could understand, your way is not the only way
'Cause this generation
Is gonna walk with their heads held high
Yeah, this generation is gonna
Bring tears to the old man's eyes
Mamma said just be proud, and hold your head up high
'Cause what you've got is a precious thing money just can't buy
No way no no
So you can tell your father, you can tell your ma
There's a new age coming into town and a new future might not be far
'Cause this generation
Is gonna walk with their heads held high
I know this generation is gonna
Bring tears to the old man's eyes
Ah-woo-hoo, ah-woo-hoo, talking 'bout this generation
Ah-woo-hoo, ah-woo-hoo, talking 'bout this generation
So you can tell your father
And you can tell your ma
There's a new age coming into town
Then your future might not be far
'Cause this generation
Is gonna walk with their heads held high
I know this generation is gonna bring tears to the old man's eyes
'Cause this generation, yeah
Is gonna walk with their heads held high
Oh, this generation
Is gonna bring tears to the old man's eyes
Ah-woo-hoo, ah-woo-hoo, talking 'bout this generation
Ah-woo-hoo, ah-woo-hoo, talking 'bout this generation
Can't you see that I, oh I, talking about this generation
Can't you see that I, oh I, talking about this generation
Can't you see that I, oh I, talking about this generation
