COPE

1.- Dean Martin - "Love thy neighbour"
Love thy neighbour
Love thy neighbor, walk up and say how be ye
Gee, but I'm glad to see ye pal, how's Tricks? What's new?
Oh, love thy neighbor, offer to share her burden
Tell her to say the word 'n' you'll see her through
Specially if there should be a beautiful girl next door
Now you say to that girl next door
Don't think I'm bold but my mama told me
To love thy neighbor and you will find your labor
A great deal easier life will be breezier if you love thy neighbor
Oh, love thy neighbor, walk up and say how be ye
Gee, but I'm glad to see ye pal, how's Tricks? What's new?
And love thy neighbor, offer to share her burden
Tell her to say the word 'n', you'll see her through
Now especially if there should be a beautiful girl next door
Now you say to that girl next door
An, don't think I'm bold but my mama told me
To love thy neighbor and you will find your labor
A great deal easier life will be breezier if you love thy neighbor
2.- Paul Simon - "One man's ceiling is another man's floor"
One man's ceiling is another man's floor
There's been some hard feelings here
About some words that were said
Been some hard feelings here
And what is more
There's been a bloody purple nose
And some bloody purple clothes
That were messing up the lobby floor
It's just apartment house rules
So all you 'partment house fools
Remember: one man's ceiling
Is another man's floor
One man's ceiling
Is another man's floor
There's been some strange goin's-on
And some folks have come and gone
Like the elevator man don't work no more
I heard a racket in the hall
And I thought I heard a call
But I never opened up my door
It's just apartment house sense
It's like apartment house rents
Remember: one man's ceiling
Is another man's floor
I tell you, one man's ceiling
Is another man's floor
There's an alley in the back of my building
Where some people congregate in shame
I was walking with my dogs
And the night was black with smog
When I thought I heard somebody call my name
Remember: one man's ceiling is another man's floor, goddamn
One man's ceiling is another man's floor
3.- Smokie - "Living next door to Alice"
Living next door to Alice
Sally called when she got the word
And she said, "I suppose you've heard... about Alice?"
When I rushed to the window and I looked outside
And I could hardly believe my eyes
As a big limousine rolled up, into Alice's drive
Oh, I don't know why she's leaving
Or where she's gonna go
I guess she's got her reasons
But I just don't want to know
'Cause for 24 years
I've been living next door to Alice
24 years just waiting for a chance
To tell her how I feel, and maybe get a second glance
Now I've got to get used to not living next door to Alice
We grew up together, two kids in the park
We carved our initials, deep in the bark
Me and Alice
Now she walks through the door, with her head held high
Just for a moment, I caught her eye
As a big limousine pulled slowly, out of Alice's drive
Oh, I don't know why she's leaving
Or where she's gonna go
I guess she's got her reasons
But I just don't want to know
'Cause for 24 years
I've been living next door to Alice
24 years just waiting for a chance
To tell her how I feel, and maybe get a second glance
Now I gotta get used to not living next door to Alice
And Sally called back and asked how I felt
And she said, "I know how to help
Get over Alice"
She said, "Now Alice is gone, but I'm still here"
You know I've been waiting for 24 years
And a big limousine disappeared
I don't know why she's leaving
Or where she's gonna go
I guess she's got her reasons
But I just don't want to know
'Cause for 24 years
I've been living next door to Alice
24 years just waiting for a chance
To tell her how I feel, and maybe get a second glance
But I'll never get used to not living next door to Alice
No, I'll never get used to not living next door to Alice
4.- The Spencer Davis Group - "Neighbour, neighbour"
Neighbour, neighbour
Neighbour Neighbour, don't wonder what goes on in my home
You're always looking for something to gossip about
You got no trouble, my squabble grew
Something bad's gonna happen to you
Neighbour Neighbour, don't wonder what goes on in my home
Neighbour Neighbour, don't wonder how I make my bread- yeah
'Cause my success you know it's driving you right out of your head
You're peeping and creeping through my hall
You got your great big ears glued down to my wall
I say neighbour neighbour, don't wonder what goes on in my home - come on!
Neighbour neighbour, don't wonder how I treat my wife - heh
You've gone around, you falsify and deny
You got no squabble, my trouble do
Something bad's gonna happen to you - I said
Neighbour Neighbour, don't wonder what goes on in my home
Neighbour neighbour, don't wonder how I make my bread - heh
'Cause my success you know is driving you way out of your head
He got no squabble, my trouble do
Something bad's gonna happen to you
I say neighbour neighbour, don't wonder what goes on in my home
Neighbour neighbour, don't wonder what goes on in my home
5.- Kevin Johansen - "Vecino"
Vecino
Bien no cree usted
Y solo por estar enfrente
No dignifica ni significa
Estar enfrentado
6.- Amancio Prada - "La vecina"
La vecina
A través de la pared
oigo tu parte peor,
y aún esa le da calor
a este corazón sin fe.
Oigo tu parte peor
y tu voz me gusta tanto
que me suena como un canto,
aunque grites de furor.
Converso con tu señor
y siento que es como yo,
en parte por eso no,
no le doy alas al amor.
No encuentro nada de malo
en soltar lo que uno siente,
pero la gente es ardiente
y enseguida coge el palo.
Si se lo cuentas a él
se va a enterar también ella,
y se armará una querella
por un trozo de papel.
"Éste me tira los tejos
sólo porque vivo aquí..."
No es cierto, pensaba en ti
también cuando estaba lejos.
Y no me voy a morir
por no poderte abrazar,
pero tener que callar,
no lo podía sufrir.
Por mí no tendrás problemas,
desconocida paloma,
tómatelo todo a broma
y arroja al fuego el poema.
Soy un viejo prematuro,
sin dientes y sin cabello,
pero me queda un destello
de niño sencillo y puro.
